Signing in and passwords
Resetting a forgotten password, and what to do when you cannot get in.
To reset a forgotten password, use the forgotten password link on the sign-in page, enter the email address you signed up with, and follow the link that arrives. If nothing arrives, check your spam folder first: the same confirmation is shown whether or not the address exists, so a typo looks identical to success.
Resetting a forgotten password
- On the sign-in page, select the forgotten password link.
- Enter the email address you signed up with.
- Select Send reset link.
- Check your email and follow the link.
- Choose a new password.
The link is single-use and does not last indefinitely. If you leave it too long, just request another.
If the email does not arrive
Work through these:
- Check your spam or junk folder. This is the usual answer.
- Check you used the right address. It must be the one you signed up with. For security, you will see the same confirmation either way, so a typo looks identical to success.
- Wait a couple of minutes. Email is not always instant.
- Check with whoever manages your email if your company filters heavily.
Still nothing? Get in touch from the address you signed up with, and we can look.
If you have two-factor turned on
You will be asked for a code from your authenticator after your password. Resetting your password does not switch that off.
If you have lost your authenticator, a password reset will not get you in. See two-factor authentication, and contact us.
Choosing a password
Long beats complicated. A passphrase of three or four unrelated words is stronger than a short one full of symbols, and far easier to live with.
Do not reuse a password from anywhere else. Your dashboard holds your customers' conversations and a live connection to your CRM, which makes it worth protecting properly.
Better still, use a password manager and turn on two-factor authentication.
Other sign-in problems
"That does not look right" on a correct password. Check for caps lock, and that you are on the right account if you have more than one.
Signed out unexpectedly. Sessions do not last forever, and signing in elsewhere can end one. Sign in again.
Nobody at your company can get in. Aijent plans include a single sign-in, so if the person who set it up has left, get in touch and we will help you recover the account.
Changing your email address
If the address you sign in with is no longer yours, get in touch rather than creating a second account. Making a new one leaves your conversations, knowledge and connections behind on the old one.
