GoDaddy's Website Builder is more restricted than most, so there are two cases.

Before you start

Two things in your dashboard first. This order matters, and doing it the other way round is the single most common reason an Aijent does not appear.

1. Add your website

Your Aijent only runs on websites you have added. This stops anyone who gets hold of your install code from putting your Aijent, and your conversation allowance, on a website you do not own.

1. Open your Aijent from the Aijents section.
2. Go to the Installation tab.
3. Under Step 1, Choose where your Aijent can appear, select Add website.
4. Enter your website address. It is added immediately, with no separate save.

Adding yourwebsite.com also covers www.yourwebsite.com, and you cannot add both. Other subdomains, such as shop.yourwebsite.com or a staging address, are separate websites and need adding separately.

2. Copy your install code

On the same Installation tab, under Step 2, Install your Aijent, select Copy. Use the button rather than highlighting the text by hand, so you get all of it.

If this is your main Aijent, the code identifies your account and serves whichever Aijent is currently your main one. Additional Aijents each have their own code that names that specific Aijent.

Add the code to GoDaddy Website Builder

GoDaddy has two different products, and only one of them takes an install code across the whole site.

If you use GoDaddy Website Builder (Websites + Marketing): there is no site-wide header for custom code on any GoDaddy plan. Instead, add an HTML section to a page and paste your code into its Custom Code field. Changes save automatically, then publish. You have to repeat this on every page you want your Aijent on, which is why we recommend the option below where possible.

If you use GoDaddy with WordPress hosting: follow the WordPress guide instead. It is a far better fit and covers your whole site at once.

Check it worked

Open your website in a brand new private or incognito window. Not the tab you have been working in.

This is not fussiness. Most websites are cached, meaning saved copies of your pages are served for speed, so the tab you have been working in will often keep showing the version from before you added the code. That makes a perfectly good installation look like a failure.

Your Aijent should appear within a few seconds. Say hello to it.

If it does not appear

Work through these in order. The first two account for most cases.

Is your Aijent switched on? On the Config tab there is an Agent Status control set to either LIVE or OFF. If it is OFF, your Aijent appears nowhere, however correctly the code is installed. Switching it back to LIVE takes effect immediately, with no save step. (Aijent Relay has no on or off control, so this does not apply to Relay.)

Is the website on your list? Check it appears under Step 1 on the Installation tab, and that the address matches the site you are actually looking at. A staging or preview address is a separate website and needs adding separately.

Have you restricted it to certain pages? Step 1 has an Only show on these pages field for each website. If anything is in it, your Aijent appears on those pages and nowhere else.

Are you looking at a cached page? Clear any caching your site uses, and purge your CDN if you have one, then open a fresh incognito window.

Did the whole code paste? Compare what you saved against the Installation tab. Some editors quietly trim the closing tag, which breaks it.

Have you placed an in-page Aijent on that page? If your Aijent is embedded directly into that page's content, the floating launcher is hidden there by design. That is a working installation, not a fault.

Putting your Aijent inside a page

Growth, Pro and Aijent Relay only

Instead of waiting in the corner, your Aijent can sit inside a page, already open, as part of the content. It works well on landing pages. See in-page placement for what it is and how it behaves.

1. Edit the page.
2. Add an HTML section where you want your Aijent.
3. Paste the in-page code into the Custom Code field.
4. Publish.

GoDaddy Website Builder is more restricted than most, so if the code does not run, consider WordPress hosting instead.

Then open the page in a fresh private window and check three things: your Aijent appears where you put it, the launcher is gone on that page, and the launcher is still there on your other pages.

Running more than one Aijent

Only one Aijent can appear on a given page. If two install codes end up on the same page, the second is ignored, and which one wins depends on the order they load, so the result is unpredictable rather than doubled.

Give each Aijent its own pages instead.
