Running more than one Aijent
When to run several Aijents, how to split them, and the one rule that catches people out.
On Growth and above you can run more than one Aijent, each with its own name, voice, knowledge and install code. The usual reason is running a sales Aijent on your marketing pages and a support one on your help pages. The rule that catches people out is that only one Aijent can appear on any given page, so each needs its own pages.
On Growth and above you can run more than one Aijent. Each is completely separate: its own name, voice, knowledge, appearance and install code.
When it is worth it
Sales and support. The most common reason. A sales Aijent on your marketing pages and a support Aijent on your help pages, so each visitor gets the one that suits what they came for.
Different products or brands. If you sell two things to two audiences, one Aijent explaining both does neither well. Two, each with its own knowledge and voice, do.
Different websites. If you run more than one site, each can have its own.
A specialised landing page. An Aijent that knows one campaign deeply, placed inside that page.
When it is not
If you sell one thing to one audience, a second Aijent adds work and confusion without adding anything. Better one Aijent with excellent knowledge than two with half each.
The rule that catches people out
Only one Aijent can appear on any given page.
Each has its own install code, and each code must go only on the pages that Aijent is meant to serve. Put two on the same page and the second is ignored, with which one survives depending on the order they load. That is unpredictable rather than simply doubled.
So plan the split before you install anything:
- Sales Aijent on your home, product and pricing pages.
- Support Aijent on your help, FAQ, delivery and account pages.
If your site cannot easily separate those, use page rules to control exactly where each one appears.
Adding one
- Go to the Aijents section and add a new Aijent.
- Give it an internal name. This is for you, not your visitors.
- Choose Sales or Support. This cannot be changed later.
- Set it up as you would any Aijent: knowledge, voice, appearance.
- Copy its own install code and put it on its pages.
What each Aijent has of its own
- Its name, voice and brand instructions
- Its knowledge
- Its appearance and behaviours
- Its own install code
- Its own conversations in your analytics, filterable by Aijent
What they share
Your calendar, video and CRM connections are account-wide. You cannot point one Aijent at one CRM and another at a different one.
That matters most if you run separate brands from one account: their leads land together in the same CRM.
Knowledge is worth keeping separate
You can add knowledge to a specific Aijent or to the whole account.
Where two Aijents serve genuinely different audiences, keep their knowledge apart. Giving a support Aijent your sales material makes it worse, not better, because it now has more to sift through and some of it points the wrong way.
How many you can have
Your plan sets the number, and each Aijent also needs a website it can appear on. See compare plans.
