Pausing and deleting an Aijent
Take an Aijent off your site temporarily, or remove it for good.
To take your Aijent off your website temporarily, set Agent Status to OFF on its Config tab. It stops appearing immediately, nothing is lost, and switching it back to LIVE resumes it. You do not need to remove the code from your site. Deleting an Aijent is permanent and should be a last resort; pause instead if there is any chance you will want it back.
Pausing an Aijent
On the Config tab there is an Agent Status control set to LIVE or OFF. Switch it to OFF and your Aijent stops appearing on your website immediately. There is no save step.
This is the right tool when you want it gone temporarily:
- You are rewriting your knowledge and do not want it answering from the old version
- You are running a campaign that finishes
- Something looks wrong and you want it off while you check
Nothing is lost. Your knowledge, settings, conversations and connections all stay exactly as they are. Switch it back to LIVE and it resumes.
You do not need to remove the code from your website. Leave it where it is.
Aijent Relay has no on and off switch
Relay Aijents cannot be paused this way. Remove the code from your site if you need it gone.
Deleting an Aijent
If you have more than one Aijent, you can delete one from the Aijents list.
Think about it first. Deleting removes that Aijent and its settings. Its conversations remain in your analytics, so your history is not lost, but the Aijent itself and how it was configured are gone.
Before you delete:
- Take the code off your website first, or the pages carrying it will simply have no Aijent.
- Consider pausing instead. If there is any chance you will want it back, switching it OFF costs nothing and keeps everything.
- Remember the type is permanent. If you are deleting because you picked Sales when you wanted Support, the replacement is a new Aijent, and it counts against your plan's allowance.
Deleting everything
There is a Danger zone in your account settings with a Delete all data option. It does exactly that.
This is permanent and immediate
This deletes everything for your account: every Aijent, every conversation, every lead, your knowledge base and your connected accounts. It cannot be undone, and we cannot recover it for you afterwards.
You have to type DELETE to confirm, which is the only thing standing between you and it.
Only use it if you genuinely want everything gone now. If you are leaving, it is usually better to cancel your subscription instead, which keeps your data recoverable for a grace period in case you change your mind.
If you want your data removed for a privacy request rather than because you are leaving, get in touch first. There is often a narrower answer than deleting everything.
